French pamphlet odds and ends

Now that I have accumulated several hundred photos of items that I have encountered in my work as a cataloging assistant, and now as a cataloging librarian, I decided that I would share them through this blog.  I work primarily with items that date between the 17th-early 20th centuries. I began my cataloging work with large project to catalog French political pamphlets from the French Revolution period, so I thought it might be nice for this first post to include some of my early pictures.  The picture below is pretty representative of the folio sized items that we cataloged, and the image above is one of my favorite armorial title vignettes that I encountered during the project.

If you are interested in learning more about the items cataloged in this project (which was officially completed this past July) we did keep a project blog that all of the catalogers contributed to throughout the French pamphlet project.

Once I get this up and running I hope to post on a semi-weekly basis.  You can also check out my instagram @demosthenesval7
